For 35 years, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered Community Center of Greater Cleveland has helped bring about change, acceptance and leadership within Northeast Ohio.  On October 12 at 6 p.m., in celebration of National LGBT month, the Center honored five Clevelanders who have made a positive impact in the community at Cleveland City Hall.

  You might have heard that October is National LGBT History Month. It's true, this month we are especially proud of our heritage and our heroes, a different celebration than Pride when we celebrate everything queer and remember Stonewall '69.  Of course, at your local LGBT Community Center, we've been talking about herstory all year. The LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland, founded as GEAR (Gay Education Awareness Resource), was the 6th in US.  To celebrate this month we've more than a week of things to do, some for free, some at a reasonable price. Read through this event roster and see if you can find a way to celebrate our heritage and history with your LGBT Center.

   The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Community Center of Greater Cleveland Selects New Executive Director 

The Board of Directors of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Community Center of Greater Cleveland (the LGBT Center) is pleased to announce that Mr. Jan Cline has been hired as the new Executive Director. The three-month selection process included interviews with community stakeholders, presentand past board leadership and the staff of the LGBT Center.  “I feel very confident in our selection of Jan. We are proud of the transparent and thorough search process we used and feel that we found the best person to serve as our next Executive Director. We are confident that the community will support him as he takes the helm of our incredible organization,” stated Scott Morgan, President of the LGBT Center’s board of directors.
